Keyper will serve as the core security foundation for NSW's semiconductor development environments and design services. This adoption significantly strengthens identity authentication and access management, enabling NSW to meet the stringent cybersecurity requirements of the global semiconductor industry.
System Architecture
■ Background
The semiconductor industry operates within a complex, multi-layered supply chain involving design, manufacturing, equipment, materials, and outsourcing. Beyond high-value physical assets, the industry handles critical Intellectual Property (IP), such as design data.
In this environment, traditional password-centric authentication and software-based Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) are no longer sufficient to combat sophisticated threats like identity impersonation and credential theft. International security guidelines and industry trends have made it clear that single-factor and password-dependent systems have reached their limits.
Notably, SEMI (Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International) emphasizes the importance of supply-chain-wide cybersecurity rather than focusing on individual enterprises. Key requirements now include anti-impersonation capabilities, hardware-based authentication, and the advancement of identity and access management based on Zero Trust architecture.
In response to these specific environmental challenges and high security demands, NSW has selected KeyXentic's E-IAM platform, Keyper, as its new authentication foundation.

The Keyper platform aligns with the core cybersecurity requirements emphasized by the semiconductor industry and SEMI through the following features:
